Vijender Singh is back in action with ‘Rumble In The Jungle’, to be held in Chhattisgarh.

New Delhi, June 22, (Fast Mail News):-- Professional boxing will make its way to Raipur for the first time with an event named ‘Rumble In The Jungle’, with the support of the government of Chhattisgarh. The event is slated to be held in August and will feature International professional boxer and Olympic medallist, Vijender Singh.


“I am extremely thankful to the Govt. of Chhattisgarh, especially Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel Ji for granting their consent to hold my next professional bout in the city of Raipur. It’s a great opportunity to introduce the sport to the people of the state and hopefully, this can inspire a new generation of boxers. I am currently training in Manchester and look forward to starting my unbeaten streak again this August.” Vijender Singh regarding the announcement of the event.


Vijender Singh turned professional in 2015 and since then has a record of 12-1 with 8 knockouts. His unbeaten streak of 12 unfortunately was broken in his last bout in Goa. ‘Rumble In The Jungle’ will only be his sixth bout in India during his professional boxing career. The event will be organized by Purple Goat Sportainment LLP.




 “Promoting sports for the current and next-generation is extremely important for the state of Chhattisgarh. Having someone of the stature of Vijender Singh who has made the country proud at the Olympics will inspire young athletes throughout the state. The dedication that he has shown towards promoting sports aligns with us and we are excited to witness professional boxing for the first time in Raipur.” Said Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh at an official event to confirm the event.

The event will have other undercard bouts at the event along with the headline bout by Vijender Singh. The pro boxing event will be held at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium, Raipur.
