Yoga a ray of hope in corona pandemic time : Prime Minister Modi

 New Delhi, June 21 (FASTMAiLNEWS) -. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today when the whole world is fighting the corona pandemic, yoga is also a ray of hope. The Prime Minister was addressing the 7th International Yoga Day program on Monday.

The Prime Minister said, “When the corona virus invaded the world, no country was ready for it with its own means, strength and mental state. We have all seen that yoga has become a great means of self-reliance in such difficult times. ”

The theme of the 7th International Yoga Day is 'Yoga for Wellness', which focuses on practicing yoga for physical and mental well-being.

 

 

 It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken the initiative on September 27, 2014 to give official recognition to yoga in the world. He had strongly raised the issue of yoga during his first address at the United Nations, saying that 'Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition and culture.

In the same year, on December 11, 2014, 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21. The resolution was then ratified by 177 countries. The resolution was passed by an absolute majority within 90 days.

Representatives from 84 countries attended the first Group Yoga Day event on June 21, 2015. On this day, mass yoga programs were organized in 251 cities of 192 countries of the world, including 46 Muslim countries. On that day, a total of 20 million people around the world did yoga.
