Youth seriously injured by beer attack in Khamar
ANGUL:A 33-year-old village youth was seriously injured by attack by a wild bear today near his village jungle this morning.The name of the injured Biju Munda of village Phulajhari under Khamar police station under Khamr range.The seriously injured Munda was rushed to Khamar hospital from where he was referred to Angul district headquarter hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.He sustained head injury in beer attack.
The Khamar range officer Manoj Kumar Tiga said in the morning today that Biju went to nearby Khesan forest to collect mushroom.He had face to face with the wild beer while collecting mushroom.The bear seeing Biju pounced upon him and attacked on his head.When Biju started shouting people nearby raised alarm,the bear left Biju injured.
The villagers immediately picked up Biju and shifted to Khamar hospital.Khamar doctors after treating Biju referred him to Angul district headquarter hospital.His condition is stated to be stable.The incident has created panics among the villagers. The ranger said the forest officials have warned villagers not to venture into forest in early morning or evening to avoid beer and elephant attack .But villagers hardly obey the warnings.
