The NDRF and SDRF, along with the district administration, carried out a rescue operation throughout the night in the bitter cold and took the girl out and took her to the hospital. The girl died during treatment.
According to Boda police, Mahi, four-year-old daughter of Ravi Bhilala, resident of village Patadiya Dhakad, had come to her maternal maternal uncle's place in village Pipliya Rasoda. There is a borewell pit on the farm of the girl's maternal grandfather Inder Bhilala.

Meanwhile, teams of SDRF, NDRF and district administration also reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. The team was called to the spot to provide oxygen to the girl and oxygen was supplied to the girl through a pipe.

Collector Harsh Dixit said that the girl was trapped 17 feet deep in the borewell pit. To save er outside, a 20 feet pit was dug parallel to the borewell using Poklen-JCB machines. A tunnel was made and the girl was taken out.
She was taken straight to the hospital in Pachor in an unconscious state, from where she was immediately referred to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal in a critical condition.
She died during treatment there. Mahi breathed her last at around 7:00 am on Wednesday. Doctors say that the girl could not survive due to swelling in the throat and difficulty in breathing.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was keeping an eye on this incident. He remained in constant touch with the authorities. He had posted on X late night that the girl would be taken out safely soon.
