BJP has thrown Manipur into the fire, Congress will not allow hate to spread: Rahul Gandhi
He assured that the Congress will not allow hate to spread.
Addressing the election rally, the Leader of Opposition said that he had undertaken the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the ideas expressed by him and his party were of a united and harmonious India.
Rahul said, “We believe that every state should run its own governance, but the BJP people say that all states should come under one political organisation called the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh).”
He said, “Now, in this election, they are trying to infiltrate Tamil Nadu. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has a great historical tradition. In the past, AIADMK had great leaders who protected the idea of Tamil Nadu. But today’s AIADMK is no longer that old party. Today it has become hollow because its leaders have compromised.”
Rahul Gandhi alleged that AIADMK leaders are neck-deep in corruption and cannot do anything against the wishes of the BJP. Therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have used them to capture the state of Tamil Nadu.
He said, “TheBJP cannot directly say what their intention is. That is why they have made AIADMK their partner to attack your language, culture, tradition and history.”
The former Congress President said that his Bharat Jodo Yatra was for a united and harmonious India — an India where everyone gets love and respect.
He alleged, “The BJP spreads hate and violence across the country. They are concentrating power in the hands of a few big businessmen. They have created an India of inequality. They are scaring and intimidating our minority brothers and sisters. Our Christian, Muslim, and Sikh brothers and sisters are being kept under the shadow of fear at all times. The BJP has thrown Manipur into the fire.”
Rahul Gandhi said, “We believe in a harmonious, just and equal country. We will not allow them to spread hate in the country.”
The Congress leader said, “We are protecting the Tamil language, culture, tradition and history. On the other hand, the BJP-AIADMK alliance is trying to snatch away Tamil Nadu’s strength.”
Referring to the Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam) passed in 2023, Rahul Gandhi said that its purpose was not to change India’s electoral map. He reminded that when the bill was passed, the BJP had said it would be implemented in 10 years, while Congress had then insisted on its immediate implementation.
