Encounter Breaks Out Between Terrorists and Security Forces in J&K's Kulgam
SRINAGAR: An encounter took place between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials reported.
The security forces reportedly launched a cordon and search operation in the Tangmarg area of Kulgam district following intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
Officials said the encounter began after terrorists opened fire on security personnel. No casualties have been reported so far in the exchange of fire. Further details are awaited, they added.
Earlier on Wednesday, security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Baramulla district, killing two terrorists.
Security forces have been on high alert following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.
