BJP-RSS Outlook Fueled by Hatred, Fear, and Anger: Rahul Gandhi at Bharat Summit 2025

NEW DELHI:Speaking at the Bharat Summit 2025 in Hyderabad on Saturday, April 26, 2025, senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said that democratic politics globally has undergone a fundamental transformation, rendering the rules of a decade ago obsolete.

Addressing the audience, Gandhi criticized the current aggressive political climate, alleging that the primary objectives are to suppress the opposition and weaken the media. Reflecting on his experiences during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he noted that leaders have failed to truly understand the voices of the people.

He remarked, “Politics, democratic politics, has fundamentally changed across the world. I would say the rules that applied a decade ago no longer apply. Sometimes, when I talk to the younger members of my party, I find that the things that were effective 10 years ago, the tools that worked 10 years ago, are no longer effective.”

The former Congress president added, “In a way, the old leaders are finished, and a new kind of leader needs to be forged.”

Gandhi sharply criticized the BJP-RSS, stating,“Their (BJP-RSS) outlook is fueled by hatred, fear, and anger, where fear often leads to anger, and anger to hatred. In contrast, our outlook should be different from theirs. Our outlook should be based on love, affection, and a deep understanding of people’s aspirations and desires.”

He also mentioned that he was originally scheduled to address the summit on Friday but had to travel to Kashmir instead, following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Gandhi thanked the summit’s delegates for showing solidarity with India in the wake of the attack.
