Dhenkanal: Two killed in Rungta Steel Plant mishap

DHENKANAL:Two labourers died and three others injured in an accident occured in Rungta Steel Plant at Jharabandha here today.The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Behera and Purandar Pradhan of village Antabila in Dhenkanal district.

According to informed sources, there was an erection work undergoing in DRA plant. While it was on an iron beam fell upon the ground injuring five workers working there. All the injured were immediately shifted to Aswini hospital Cuttack for treatment where two succumbed, according to SP Abhinav Sonkar.

Repeated contacts made to company PRO Aay Das yielded no response in this regard.The incident occurred at about three pm today.The identity of the injured is still not ascertained as they are in Cuttack. Senior police officials including SDPO Hindol Satyananda rushed to the spot to control the situation.
