Tensions Between China And US Escalates As Trump Further Imposes 245% Tariff

The tariff war between the US and China continues. Tensions between the two nations have escalated further after the US imposed a 245% tariff on Chinese goods. Meanwhile, China has responded to the tariffs imposed by the US. According to a Reuters report, China stated that if the US continues this tariff game, it will not care.

The US government has imposed tariffs of up to 245% on goods coming from China. This decision has further strained relations between the US and China. The White House issued a fact sheet providing detailed information about this decision.

According to the fact sheet, more than 75 countries are ready to negotiate new trade agreements with the US, so higher tariffs have not been imposed on these countries for now. China has taken retaliatory actions against US decisions, and thus, tariffs on China will continue. The fact sheet clearly states that China will now have to pay tariffs of up to 245% to send goods to the US.

The fact sheet accuses China of halting the supply of gallium, germanium, antimony, and other critical high-tech materials to the US. These materials are used in military equipment.

The fact sheet also mentions that this week, China stopped the export of six rare heavy metals and rare earth magnets. It claims that China's motive is to disrupt the supply of essential materials needed by global car companies, airplane manufacturers, semiconductor industries, and defense sectors.
