NEW DELHI: The National Examination Agency (NTA) has postponed the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Exam June 2024, which was to be held between June 25 and 27.

NTA has given the reason and said that due to unavoidable circumstances and logistical issues, the postponement of this exam has been announced. The revised schedule for conducting this exam will be announced later through NTA.

The circular issued by NTA said, "Candidates are informed that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024, which was scheduled to be held from 25.06.2024 to 27.06.2024, is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistical issues. The revised schedule for conducting this exam will be announced later through the official website."

Earlier on June 19, the Ministry of Education of the Central Government had ordered the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination amid questions being raised about rigging in the examination. On June 20, a day after the cancellation of the examination, the Union Ministry of Education handed over the investigation of the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

It is worth noting that there have been reports of paper leak and setting in many states regarding the medical entrance exam NEET-UG in the country. There are also reports of irregularities in the NEET exam results. On this matter, the government is talking about reforms in its exam conducting body NTA, but is not cancelling the exam. At the same time, the students are demanding that the exam be cancelled and the exam be conducted under the supervision of the court.
