163 Indian companies provided 4.25 lakh jobs by investing $40 billion in America
Washington, May 4, (Fast Mail News):-- Indian companies are continuously investing in America and giving jobs to the local people. A survey by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) states that 163 Indian companies have invested more than $40 billion in the US. Due to this, 1.25 lakh people have also got jobs in America.
CII has released the report 'Indian Roots, American Soil', a survey on investment and entrepreneurship done by people of Indian origin on American soil. The report was officially released by Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, US Ambassador Designate to India Eric Garcetti, Assistant Commerce Secretary for International Markets Arun Venkataraman and CII's Shuchita Sonalika. The report states that Indian companies have spent around $185 million on Corporate Social Responsibility in the US. Their funding in US-based research and development projects is about one billion dollars.
CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said that Indian companies have demonstrated their fighting capability and commitment in the US market. Along with increasing investment, he has also created employment and diversified into various sectors. Top ten states to benefit from jobs created by Indian companies are Texas (20,906 jobs), New York (19,162 jobs), New Jersey (17,713 jobs), Washington (14,525 jobs), Florida (14,418 jobs), California (14,334 jobs), Georgia (13,945 jobs), Ohio (12,188 jobs), Montana (9,603 jobs) and Illinois (8,454 jobs).
Representatives of a large number of Indian companies were also present on the occasion. Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that Indian companies are bringing strength, fighting spirit and competitiveness to the US. They are creating jobs and supporting local communities.
