Israel Attacks Iran, Fighter Jets Bomb Tehran, Target Nuclear Sites

(Fast Mail);-- Israel carried out a significant assault on Iran, with its fighter jets bombing the capital, Tehran. Additionally, Israel targeted Iranian military bases and nuclear facilities using drones.

The Israeli Defense Forces issued a statement confirming a unilateral attack on Iran’s nuclear programme. Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck military bases, nuclear sites, and other locations. Israel claims the attack was necessary to halt Iran’s nuclear programme development.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a televised address, stated that the attack was launched to counter the looming Iranian threat to Israel. He emphasized that the operation, named “Rising Lion,” would continue for several days until the threat is fully neutralized.

The United States responded through a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, confirming that Israel acted independently.

Rubio clarified that the U.S. was not involved in the attack and its priority is the safety of American forces in the region. The statement noted that Israel informed the U.S. that the attack was essential for its self-defense. Rubio added that President Trump is closely monitoring the situation and warned Iran against targeting U.S. interests.

Iran’s state-run newspaper Noor News confirmed explosions in northeastern Tehran on Friday morning. Two U.S. officials told  that “Israel has conducted attacks in Iran.”

Following the attack, Iraq closed its airspace, halting all flight operations at its airports.
