IPL 2025: RCB One Win Away from Creating History, Match on May 9
RCB has never won an IPL title, but their performance this season has been dominant, leading in all major aspects. They top the points table with 14 points. In the race for the Orange Cap, RCB’s batsman Virat Kohli leads with 443 runs, showcasing consistent brilliance. Similarly, RCB’s pacer Josh Hazlewood tops the Purple Cap race with 18 wickets, underlining RCB’s dominance in IPL 2025.
In Sunday’s match, Krunal Pandya was the hero, scoring an unbeaten 73 off 47 balls. Virat Kohli played a solid 51 off 47 balls, anchoring the innings. In bowling, experienced pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took three and two wickets, respectively.
With four league matches remaining, RCB will play three at home and one away at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. This away match will be crucial. If RCB wins, they will become the only team in IPL history to win all their away matches in a single league stage—a feat neither Chennai Super Kings nor Mumbai Indians have achieved. For RCB, a team yet to win an IPL title, this is a golden opportunity to make history. The match is scheduled for May 9.
