Dhenkanal Odapada School teacher suspended for injuring sixth class student

DHENKANAL:Odapada block authorities have placed the teacher of Siminai Nodal Upper Primary School under suspension today for allegedly assaulting one class six student on Friday last.The student sustaining head injuries was rushed to Dhenkanal DHH for treatment. The name of the teacher is Sandhyarani Kandi  who has been here in the school for the last sixteen years.The action of the block authorities followed the dharna by Siminai villagers yesterday locking the school gate and demanding action against errant teacher who had injured the student.

The block education office Prafulla Kallo said on Friday classes were going on in Siminai nodal Upper Primary School as usually.In the meantime during recess period some students along with this six class student climbed mango tree inside the campus.The teacher Sandhyarabi Prusty when saw students climbing the tree went to the spot with a Steel pipe.She had allegedly hit the students by which he got head injury.

After this incident on Friday ,the villagers got angried and locked the school staging dharna in front of it demanding action.They demanded immediate action against the errant teacher Sandhyarani kandi and her immediate transfer.The dharna was lifted after block authorities and Sadar police intervened in the matter.How ever,there is no police complaint in Sadar police station in this regard,according to IIC Priyabrata Das.Today press release from district administration says that the errant school teach Sandhyarani has been placed under suspension in the spirit of non-tolerance of physical punishment in school campus
