Vigilance unearths huge assets from assistant executive engineer from Athamallick block

ANGUL: On the allegation of accusations of disproportionate asset(DA) to his known source of income by the assistant executive engineer Ramachandra Satpathy,of Athamallik block, a simultaneous raid was conducted by an Odisha vigilance team today.The team included seven DSPs,15 inspectors and other supporting staff who got search warrants from Special Judge Vigilance Cuttack,The rad conducted at eight different places in Angul,Dhenkanal,Cuttack and Kalahandi districts.

According to vigilance sources,,the team unearthed one doubl-storied building at Dhenkanal,17 high value lots in Barang,Cuttack and in Dhenkanal town. The vigilance team also found gold ornaments of 326 gram. The team also found 23.95 lakh cash from the house searches of his son-in-law Tapan Kumar Tripathy who is a medical officer at Junagarh.The father-in-law and son-in-law are being interrogated to ascertain the source of unaccounted wealth. The vigilance sources also informed that Satpathy has a bank deposit of 63.69lakhs in various branches. He has also two four wheelers and two two-wheelers in his name. The vigilance team also recovered household articles worth of rupees 17lakh.Satpathy is being interrogated by vigilance team to justify his wealth.

Satpathy entered into government service in October 1989 as junior engineer. He worked at several places as JE before he was promoted to assistant engineer and posted in Angul in 2020.In 2022 he was promoted to rank of assistant executive engineer and posted at Athamallick block.
