Dhenkanal: Seven year-old girl raped in Hindol area
DHENKANAL(Odisha):-- A seven year old girl child was brutally raped at Hindol area on Saturday afternoon at a palm orchard while she had gone to collect palm fruits. The girl who was seriously injured was rushed to Hindol hospital first and then she was shifted to Angul district headquarter hospital for treatment. The condition of the girl is stated to be stable now.
Police have arrested one 32-year-old accused Siba Sahoo of village Budalu in this connection. The gruesome incident has stirred the entire Hindol area with people demanding stern action against the culprit.
According to police, at a village in Hindol area,there lives a family consisting of four people. Those include parents,nine year old son and seven year old daughter.The parents are earning from farming.
On Saturday afternoon, at about 4.30 pm,the girl went to nearby palm orchard as usually to collect palm fruit.While she was collecting the palm fruits normally left by people, the accused saw her alone there.The accused though belong to another village came to this village yesterday to his relative’s house.In the palm orchard, the accused caught the girl and raped her brutally.Then he covered her with palm leaves and left the spot.
Police said without informing the police the family members took her into Hindol hospital for treatment.The hospital authorities also didn’t inform the police and referred to Angul hospital.
In the meantime,Hindol SDPO Satyanarayan Nanda and IIC Charulata Behera got the information and had reached the Hindol hospital.There they received the complaint from medical authorities and lodged a rape case in police police station.
The SDPO Nanda Said,dog and scientific team were rushed to the crime scene and upon their finding police identified the culprit who had absconded from the village.How ever,he said police nabbed the accused Siba Sahoo while he was absconding and arrested him.Further investigation are on.
