Big blow to Punjab Congress, former minister Manpreet Badal joins BJP

 NEW DELHI:Former Punjab Finance Minister and senior Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. Manpreet met BJP president JP Nadda in Delhi. He took membership of BJP in the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal,according to reports.

Addressing media, Manpreet said that he joined the BJP after being impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies and development model. He said that there was a period when Punjab used to be the moon of the country but now Punjab is lagging behind. This backward Punjab can be brought back on the track of development by PM Modi and his team. So he has joined BJP for the development of Punjab and he will work with the party for the development of the state.

 

 

 On the occasion, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Manpreet is a dedicated person for the development of the country and the state. His joining BJP has strengthened the party. Manpreet Singh Badal coming to the party BJP will play an important role in the service of Punjab.

It is noteworthy that Manpreet submitted his resignation to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi before joining the BJP. Manpreet Singh Badal has raised many questions on the current leadership of Punjab in his letter to Rahul.
