Congress takes a Jibe at PM Modi over five-country foreign trip, accuses him of evading Manipur violence and other issues
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he embarked on his five-country visit starting from July 2.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Modi’s eight-day tour will include Brazil for the BRICS Summit, as well as visits to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, and Namibia to strengthen India’s ties with key ‘Global South’ nations.
In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh remarked, “When the going gets tough, the self-proclaimed toughness gets going. The ‘super premium frequent flyer’ Prime Minister is off on an eight-day, five-country trip.”
He stated, “The Prime Minister has never visited Manipur since the double-engine government derailed, completely devastating normal life there.”
The Congress leader further alleged that defence officials have revealed shocking details, stating that due to the Prime Minister’s decisions, India faced a setback in the first two days of ‘Operation Sindhu.’
Ramesh also pointed out, “President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan using a trade deal. Even 70 days after the Poonch attack, the terrorists have not been brought to justice.”
