Congress Demands Discussion on China in Parliament

(Fast Mail News);-- Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, citing the revelation by the Army Vice Chief, said on Friday that the Modi government should agree to a discussion in Parliament on India-China relations to build a consensus for a collective response to the geopolitical and economic challenges posed by the neighboring country directly and through Pakistan.

Jairam Ramesh stated that Army Vice Chief Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh has publicly confirmed discussions on the abrupt halt of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan following the intervention of US President Donald Trump.

In a post on X, Ramesh wrote, “Lieutenant General Singh has revealed some details that China had assisted the Pakistani Air Force. This is the same China that completely disrupted the status quo in Ladakh five years ago, yet Prime Minister Modi publicly gave it a clean chit on June 19, 2020.”

Ramesh added, “For five years, Congress has been demanding a discussion in Parliament on all aspects of India-China relations. But the Modi government has consistently denied such a discussion. Congress will continue to raise this demand in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament starting July 21, 2025.”

He emphasized that the Modi government should at least now agree to facilitate a consensus for a collective response to the geopolitical and economic challenges posed by China through Pakistan.
