Country’s Army, soldiers bowing at PM’s feet: Madhya Pradesh Deputy CM
(Fast Mail):After Madhya Pradesh government minister Vijay Shah, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda in a controversial statement said that the country's army and soldiers bow at the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the entire nation bows at his feet.
The controversy over Minister Vijay Shah's remarks on Colonel Sofia Qureshi had not even settled when Deputy Chief Minister Devda made a controversial statement about the entire army.
The Madhya Pradesh Deputy CM was on a visit to Jabalpur last Thursday.
While addressing a programme, Devda mentioned the Pahalgam incident and said that until the terrorists who erased the vermilion of mothers and those who harbour terrorists are completely destroyed, there will be no peace. He added that we would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The country's army and soldiers bow at his feet, and the entire nation bows at his feet.
Devda's statement has drawn strong objections from the Congress, other opposition parties, and defence experts. They allrged that linking the army's bravery and sacrifices solely to the Prime Minister's image is wrong.
While it is important to honour the sacrifices of the soldiers, expressing it in such a political manner is considered inappropriate and disrespectful. Congress and several opposition parties have demanded a public apology from Devda and have sent a complaint to the Governor, stating that his remark is against the nation's security sentiments.

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also objected to Devda's statement. He accused BJP leaders of insulting the Indian Army. Sanjay Singh said, “‘This country's army and soldiers bow at Prime Minister Modi's feet’—this is the statement of Madhya Pradesh BJP Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda. BJP leaders are continuously insulting the Indian Army, but Modi ji remains silent. ‘India will not tolerate the insult of the Indian Army.’”
This is not the first time a BJP leader has made such a controversial statement. Earlier, some statements by senior state minister Vijay Shah had also been in the spotlight. Now, the Deputy Chief Minister's statement has added to the BJP's troubles. Some party leaders, defending Devda, claim that his statement has been misrepresented and that his intention was not to insult the army.
