Earthquake tremors in Costa Rica, Panama and California, earth shook up to 31 km depth

San Jose / Panama / Sacramento, Apr 5, (Fast Mail News):-- Earthquake tremors were felt in the Central American countries of Costa Rica and Panama. During this the earth shook to a depth of 31 km. Shortly after the earthquake in Panama, earthquake tremors were also felt in the US state of California.

 

The intensity of the earthquake in Costa Rica was measured at 6.4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), strong tremors were felt in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 31 km. There is no immediate report of loss of life or property due to the earthquake. Similarly, the intensity of the earthquake off the coast of Panama was measured at 6.6 on the Richter scale. According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was 72 km south of Boca Chica in Chiriqui province.

 

Earthquake tremors continued to affect normal activities in Panama. A football match was going on when the earthquake occurred. During the match, a player fell on the ground as the earth shook. The video of the incident was also broadcast on local television. The game had to be stopped due to vibration on the field and the stadium lights going out. The epicenter of the earthquake in Panama was at a depth of 10 kilometers from the Earth's surface.

 

The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no danger of a tsunami following the earthquake. Five minutes after the earthquake in Panama, earthquake tremors were also felt in the US state of California. The magnitude of the earthquake in California was measured at 4.5 on the Richter scale.
