PM Modi is hiding behind the Speaker, says Priyanka Gandhi

 By Jagadananda Pradhan
(Fast Mail):--
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi completely described Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's claim regarding the opposition members' plan to carry out an unexpected incident with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an absolute lie and nonsense, and claimed that Prime Minister Modi is now hiding behind the Speaker.

Priyanka alleged that when the Prime Minister lacked the courage to come to the House, he is getting the Lok Sabha Speaker to tell lies.

Priyanka Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament complex, "This is completely a lie... there is no question of any plan to do something like that to the Prime Minister."

She claimed, "The Prime Minister is hiding behind the Lok Sabha Speaker and getting him to say all this. The Prime Minister did not have the courage to come to the House. He did not come to the House because three women MPs were standing in front of his seat—what kind of nonsense is this."

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said in the House that yesterday, several Congress leaders had approached near the Leader of the House's seat in the House and wanted to carry out some unexpected incident, which is why, on their request, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not come to the House. Birla also said that the behaviour shown by some opposition members in his chamber on Wednesday was something that had never happened in the Lok Sabha from its beginning until today, and this scene was like a "black spot".

After this, the proceedings of the House were adjourned for the day after three adjournments. In the discussion on the President's address delivered by President Droupadi Murmu in both Houses of Parliament, which began on January 28, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi attempted to raise the issue of the confrontation with China citing former Army Chief M M Naravane's book, but Speaker Birla did not allow it, citing rules.

A stalemate persisted in the House over this issue. For protesting against not allowing the Leader of Opposition to speak, eight Congress members and one CPI(M) member were suspended for the remainder of the current session of Parliament. Due to this issue, the stalemate has continued for the past four days.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to deliver his speech on Wednesday, which was postponed at the last moment.
