One died in Japanese encephalitis in Angul
A three member high level medical team rushed to the district and inspected affected areas for three days before leaving on Friday last. Though they have not found any linkage behind the outbreak of this viral disease, the district health department remains on high alert.
According to sources,one week ago two girl children aged six and nine of Banarpal and Kosala area were having high fever and other complications.They were admitted into Angul district headquarter hospital where all kinds of treatment were given. When the fever didn’t remit, their samples were sent to SCB Cuttack for testing. Meanwhile one of the two affected died and another was discharged.
According to sources,though the encephalitis were detected there was no evidence of the environment that created the virus.They have advised local people to make a distance from mosquito,pig and other animals to avoid such type of virus.
The CDMO said despite there being no environmental evidence of the outbreak of the disease,the district health officials are taking multiple measures in the affected area to stop the spreading of the disease.
