One killed and two injured in road mishap at Khamar
Angul, Mar 28, (Fast Mail News):-- One motorcyclist was killed and two others injured in a road accident occurred at Barkotia chhak on National Highway number 149 near Khamar today.The deceased has been identified as Seta Behera ,40 of Batisuan village.The two injured are Manasi Behera and Rinku Dehury.The injured were rushed to nearby Khamar hospital where they are stated as normal.
According to Sarat Padhihari,IIC of Khamar police station Seta was going to his home from Khamar on a motorcycle with two minors.As soon as he reached Barakotia chhak an unknown vehicle hit him from the opposite site killing him on the spot.After causing accident the vehicle absconded.So far we do not know about the whereabouts of the vehicle which caused the accident.He said efforts are on to identify the vehicle.
The IIC also said that the local people staged rasta rook on Khamar-Pallahara road after the accident which took place at about 11am.They demanded compensation and arrest the culprit who are escaped after the accident.”We rushed to the spot after being informed that an accident occurred at Barkotia cchhak. By that time local people gathered on the spot and resorted rasta roko.We convinced them about our effort to catch the culprit and the local administration gave rupees 10,000 from the redcross to the victim’s family.Then after the rasta rook was lifted.The traffic became normal.The body was sent for the post mortem”,said the IIC
