Three killed in Angul accident

ANGUL:In a tragic accident,three youths were killed when their motocycle collided head on with a pick up van from opposite side at santarapur chhak on NH-55 near Angul. The deceased have been identified as Tipu Pradhan,Sunil Sahoo,Manas Behera of age between 25 to 30.They belong to local Kulei village who resorted road blockade on NH-55 since the accident occurred at about 3.30pm today. The demanded speed breakers and compensation.

Police said these three youths were going to their village Kulei at about 3.30 pm when a vegetable laden pick up van was coming from the opposite side from Jarapada. These two vehicles collied head-on at Sentara chhak killing three persons on motorcycles. After the accident the driver of the pick up van fled from the spot.Police is searching for the absconded driver..

The local people enraged over the accident resorted road blockade at Santarapur chhak demanding compensation and speed breakers. The SDPO,Angul RK Mahalik and other senior officials rushed to the spot and convinced the agitating locals .Blockade was lifted at 6.30 o’clock in the evening. Bodies were sent for the post mortem after the blockade .
