TMC Manifesto 2024: Free LPG cylinders, supports Congress-led coalition at the Center
KOLKATA:Trinamool Congress released its election manifesto on Wednesday, two days before the start of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. 10 promises have been mentioned in the manifesto. Party convener Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly assured that there will be no Citizenship (Amendment) Act, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Uniform Civil Code (UCC)implemented in Bengal.
Trinamool leaders emphasized Trinamool's support to the Congress-led coalition at the Center, saying that the promises would be fulfilled once the government is formed at the Center as part of the I.N.D.I.A alliance, though there is no alliance in the state. In the first phase, voting will be held in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri.
The special thing about the manifesto of TMC is that the party chose the day of Ramnavami to release it. The main opposition BJP in the state has been accusing the Trinamool Congress and the Mamata government of appeasing Muslims. In such a situation, the move to issue a manifesto on Ram Navami is being described as part of Trinamool's strategy to win Hindu votes.
