13 killed,15 injured after bus falls into soil mine quarry in Chhatisgarh's Durg

Raipur, 10 April. At least 13 people,among them two women, have died in Kumhari bus accident in Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday night, a bus carrying with employees fell into a 40 feet deep Murum mine. Earlier there were reports of 14 deaths and 15 people have been injured,among them 10 critical in the accident.

Durg Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary has said that a case has been registered against the bus driver under 3 sections. After the incident, angry employees have stopped working in Kedia Company. The President, Prime Minister and Chief Minister have expressed grief over the accident. Durg Collector Richa Chaudhary Sharma arrived in the morning to inspect the incident.

According to reports,the road where the accident occurred is very narrow. There were about 40 people from Kedia Company in the bus who were returning home after their duty around 8:00 pm.

The company has promised to provide a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each to the relatives of the deceased and also to provide a job to one member of the family. The company will also bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured. 10 people injured in this accident have been admitted to Raipur AIIMS. These include 6 women and 4 men.

After receiving information about the accident, BJP candidate from Durg Lok Sabha seat Vijay Baghel and Congress candidate Rajendra Sahu reached Kumhari Hospital to inquire about the well being of the injured. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma also reached AIIMS late at night to meet the injured.
