Bihar News: Pappu Yadav's party merged with Congress after meeting Lalu Yadav

PATNA:Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav,who has alarge influence in Seemanchal area of Bihar, has approved the merger of his Jan Adhikar Party with Congress.

On Tuesday night, Pappu Yadav met Rashtriya Janata Dal National President Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav about the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In the morning at Patna airport, he had avoided the question of merger, but had definitely said that he has been following the ideology of Congress for a long time. It was then believed that Pappu had agreed for the merger of his party. Pappu's party Jaap does not have a single MLA or MP in Bihar. Pappu himself has been an MP and currently his wife is a Rajya Sabha MP. At 4 pm, Jaap officially ceased to exist and Pappu Yadav, like his wife Ranjit Ranjan, also becomes a Congressman.

Pappu Yadav after meeting Lalu family,said, there is a complete family relationship between us and Lalu ji. We both were never separated from each other. We will stop BJP in Kosi, Seemanchal and Mithilanchal. The way Tejashwi Yadav worked for 17 months, it created confidence among the public. The way Rahul Gandhi won hearts and showed people their dreams has given hope to people,he said.

“Together we will win not only the 2024 elections but also the 2025 elections. We will fight together under the leadership of Congress. Purnia is my life line. There is neither caste nor religion there. I am in the heart of every person. My fight is very clear. I'm totally with the Indie Coalition. I had, have and will always have a family relationship with RJD. It is my responsibility to stand with Tejashwi Yadav. I want Tejashwi Yadav to form a strong government in 2025”,Yadav said.

Pappu Yadav was made the main accused in CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar;s muder case which was occured on 14 June 1998. AK-47 was used in the murder,according to sources. Apart from this, Rajan Tiwari, Anil Yadav, Amar Yadav, Harish Chaudhary etc. were made accused. The MP-MLA court of Patna had sentenced him to life imprisonment in the year 2008. But, on May 17, 2013, Patna High Court acquitted Pappu, Rajan and Anil due to lack of evidence. After this Pappu Yadav formed his Jan Adhikar Party in 2015. Pappu Yadav's party had fielded Bihar Assembly candidates but was not successful. Pappu had also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Madhepura in 2019, but lost. He has announced to contest elections from Purnia Lok Sabha in 2024.

Pappu Yadav was born in 1967 in Madhepura district.Pappu Yadav, who was elected as an independent MLA in 1990, won the Lok Sabha elections in 1991, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2014.
