Former minister Debasis Nayak joins Congress
BHUBANESWAR: Believing in congress ideology and objective former Odisha minister Debasis Nayak has joined congress party in presence of Odisha In-charge Dr. Ajoy Kumar,former OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik,PCC Media Incharge Bobbeeta Sharma Dr.Biswaranjan Mohanty,Cairman,Odisha Media and communications department at congress bhawan today.Earlier Nayak who hails from Bari from Jajpur district had earlier joined Bharatiya Janata Party.
Welcoming into party fold Odisha congress In-charge Dr.Ajoy Kumar said the joining of Debasis Nayak will not only strengthen the party in Jajpur but at all Odisha level.Nayak has been working very closely with chief minister Naveen Patnaik and his father Biju Patnaik remaining in various capacities.Nayak was one of the founder member of Biju Janata Dal.He joined congress after being disillusioned by non-odia rule in the state.
In his statement Nayak said he feels very happy to join in congress in order to protect Indian constitution and preserve “Odia Asmita”.The country has got freedom due to immense sacrifice by congress party and supreme sacrifice by Indira Gandhi and Rajib Gandhi is still memorable for the whole nation.It was just like killing democracy where Rahul Gandhi was stripped off his parliamentary leaders seat.I was deeply moved over that event and finally had decided to embrace congress party to work for the nation,he said.
Among others AICC media co-ordinator Prabhat Kumar,PCC General Secretary Chinmay Sundar das,Sudhanshu Deo attended joining programme.
