Budget 2024:Government announces nine priorities in budget,know what govt focused on

NEW DELHI:Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced nine priorities in the Union Budget 2024-25 to generate ample opportunities in the economy.

These nine priorities include productivity, employment, social justice, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation and reform.

Presenting her seventh consecutive budget, Sitharaman said the government is conducting a comprehensive research review to develop climate-friendly seeds. She said one crore farmers would turn to natural farming in the next two years. The minister said vegetable production clusters would be promoted on a large scale to increase production.

The government will release 109 new high-yielding, climate-resilient seeds for 32 agricultural and horticultural crops.

Sitharaman said the implementation of various schemes announced in the interim budget in February is still underway.
