Javier Miley elected President of Argentina, promises big changes

UENOSAIRES: Javier Milei from the far-right Liberty Advances coalition has won Argentina's presidential runoff against Economy Minister Sergio Massa, according to reports.

Milei will be the country's president for the next four years.Reports said,,with 86.59 percent of the votes counted, Milei obtained 55.95 percent, far ahead of Massa's 44.04 percent.

Sunday's poll took place with an estimated turnout of 76.39 percent.

Milei will succeed current President Alberto Fernandez and is set to take office on Dec. 10 for a four-year term.

Argentina's next president will be right-wing leader Javier Miley. In his first address as elected President on Sunday, Miley said that the situation in the country is serious. He promised to make major changes after assuming the presidency. Javier Miley said that the reconstruction of Argentina begins today.

53-year-old Miley may be an economist but she has no real political experience. How doe she bring the country's economy back on track, this is the biggest question.

Miley has promised to cut spending and taxes, close Argentina's central bank and replace the country's currency with the US dollar.

She has proposed banning abortion, relaxing regulations on guns, and considering only countries that want to "fight against socialism" as Argentina's allies. He often cites the United States and Israel as examples.

It is noteworthy that Argentina is the country with the third largest economy in Latin America. Today this country is suffering from the problems of inflation, increasing recession and poverty.
