Man sets mother fire for not cooking on time,dies in hospital

RAIGAD: A 26-year-old man allegedly set his mother on fire after having a fight over cooking issue in Maharashtra's Raigad district. An official said that the incident took place on Tuesday evening in Navkhar village near Revdanda. He told that the seriously burnt woman died during treatment in a government hospital in Alibaug this morning. The victim was identified as Changuna Namdev Khot.

After a fight over cooking and serving food, his son Jayesh beat her up. In a fit of anger, he allegedly dragged her to an open space in front of the house, collected dry wood and set them on fire, the police officer said.

He said that after getting information about the incident, officials of Ravdanda police station reached the spot and took the injured woman to the hospital. A police team arrested Jayesh from the nearby forest. Further investigation is on.
