MG Motor launches new electric car 'Comet', starting price Rs 7.98 lakh

New Delhi, Apr 26, (Fast Mail News):-- Vehicle manufacturer Morris Garages (MG) Motor India on Wednesday launched its new electric car 'Comet'. Its starting price is Rs 7.98 lakh. MG's Comet is the cheapest, smallest and entry level electric car.

 

The company has claimed that it is the most affordable electric vehicle (EV) in the country. The Comet is the second electric vehicle model from the company after the ZS EV. Its production has started at the Halol plant in Gujarat. Its booking is starting from 15th May. Comet EV will get a range of 230 kilometers in full charge. The company says that this car will run for 1000 kilometers for Rs 519.

 

 

Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said in a statement, “The Comet EV furthers our determination to transform the way cities move. He added that the Comet EV has been built on the pure electric GSEV platform. MG Motor, a wholly owned unit of China's SAIC Motor Corp, has invested around Rs 700 crore in the development of the Comet.
