Multilateral 'Exercise Sea-Dragon' of navies begins off US coast

New Delhi, Mar 16, (Fast Mail News):-- The multilateral 'Exercise Sea-Dragon 23' of the navies has started off the coast of America. To participate in this exercise, India's maritime reconnaissance aircraft P-8I reached Guam in the US on Tuesday itself. Apart from Indo-US, Japan, Canada and Republic of Korea navies will share their maritime experiences with each other by participating in this military exercise.

According to Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal, this is the third military exercise of the coordinated multi-lateral anti-submarine warfare exercise for Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft hosted by the US Navy, which will continue till March 30. During this, the countries participating in the military exercise will practice joint anti-submarine operations. The scope of these military exercises has been continuously expanded over the years to include advanced ASW exercises. The capabilities of Sea-Dragon 23 will be tested during the exercise. In this connection, it will demonstrate engagement of underwater targets with other aircraft.

Along with this, exchange of expertise will also be done between the navies. The maritime reconnaissance aircraft P-8I will represent the Indian Navy, while P8A of the US Navy, P1 of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, CP 140 of the Royal Canadian Air Force and P3C of the Republic of Korea Navy will participate in the military exercise. The aim of this military exercise is to create better coordination and synergy between friendly navies, based on their shared values and resolve for an open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
