Diarrhoea spread to Dhenkanal,50 hospitalised

DHENKANAL: The diarrhoea has spread into Bhuban Notified Area Council of Dhenkanal district with nearly 50 persons have been admitted to hospital.Though one death has occurred in this disease,the local administration refutes this death due to diarrhoea stating that he died due to brain stroke.

The 60 year –old Krupasindhu Naik belonging to 12 number Ward rushed to Bhuban hospital last evening with complaints of diarrohea.He was treated and discharged last night.Mlik had gone to home where he died last night. Doctor said he died due to a stroke not because of diarrhea.

 

 

 

 Meanwhile, diarrhoea has been rapidly spreading  in the NAC areas of Bhuban since yesterday. So far 48 patients have been admitted in Bhuban hospital while five seriously affected have been referred to Dhenkanal DHH.

The reason for the outbreak of diarrhoea is stated to be due to consumption of contaminated water.

Kamakhyanagar sub collector Dinamani Nayak said,the disease has been spreading rapidly into all parts of the NAC since yesterday. The administration has taken all out measures to tackle the situation by disinfecting water bodies all over the NAC areas Majors have been taken by the administration and doctors to contain the disease within NAC areas without spreading to rural areas. He said high level district officials rushed to Bhuban today and took stock of the situation. Local MLA Shatrughan Jena and NAC chairman Subhendu Sahoo were among those present in the meeting.
