Iran-Israel Conflict: Missile Barrages from Both Sides ; Know Who Suffered How Much Damage?

TEL AVIV / TEHRAN: The intense conflict between Iran and Israel continues unabated with both nations are relentlessly launching missile attacks on each other. Iran refuses to bow to threats from the United States or Israel. U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader have exchanged threats regarding U.S. military involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict, with Iran rejecting Trump’s call for “unconditional surrender.”

Both countries are suffering losses in this conflict. While civilians are losing their lives, missile strikes are causing significant damage to buildings and key locations. According to the Washington-based group Human Rights Activists, as the Israel-Iran conflict enters its seventh day, at least 639 people have been killed and 1,320 injured across Iran due to Israeli attacks.

The group, which also provided detailed casualty figures during Iran’s 2022 anti-government protests over Mahsa Amini’s death, identified 263 civilians and 154 security personnel among the total deaths in Israeli attacks.

Meanwhile, Iran has not regularly reported casualty figures during the intense Israeli attacks. Iran’s last update stated that 224 people were killed and 1,277 others injured in Israeli strikes.

The Israeli military announced it is conducting fresh attacks on Iran. According to a report by Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen, attacks have been reported in Iran’s capital, Tehran, while explosions were also heard near Karaj city, west of Tehran. Israel made a significant claim, stating it destroyed Iran’s internal security headquarters in Tehran.

Iran has escalated its attacks on Israel. Air raid sirens blared in central Israel after Iran launched additional missiles. While Iran continues to fire missiles at Israel, it is also working to counter Israeli attacks. According to reports, the Iranian Air Force is currently intercepting Israeli targets in the skies over Karaj and its outskirts.

Iran’s SNN news agency reported that Iranian forces have activated air defenses over Tehran and shot down several drones in the city’s outskirts.

Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB stated that Iranian authorities have canceled domestic and international flights until 2:00 PM (10:30 GMT) today. Iran’s airspace has been closed since Israel began its attacks on Friday. Israel has also shut down its airspace. Due to the airspace closures, other countries have had to evacuate their citizens via land routes through neighboring countries.

Israeli forces have threatened residents, workers, and others in the areas around Arak and Khondab in northwest Iran, ordering them to evacuate the region.

Protesters in the U.S. rallied against American involvement in Israel’s attacks on Iran. As the Trump administration considers participating in Israel’s war in Iran, opposition has begun. Demonstrators gathered in front of the White House to protest, urging the U.S. to stay out of the conflict. They are also angry about Israel’s bombardment of Iran and the billions of dollars in military aid provided to Israel by the U.S.

Three U.S. aircraft carrier groups are already stationed in the Middle East. Protesters want to ensure these forces remain there for defensive purposes, not offensive ones.
