Odisha people never accept the false speeches of PM: Congress

By Jagadananda Pradhan
 BHUBANESWAR:
4.5 crore people of Odisha will not accept what Prime Minister Narendra Modi have said in a meeting yesterday. Senior Congress leader and former minister Panchanan Kanungo while addressing press at congress bhawan today said, during the last 10 years of Modi rule ,BJP has done injustice to farmers, youth, women and other sections of the society.

He questioned as to why KBK Yoyana has been discontinued and why the current plan expenditure is coming at  60:40 ratio while during the congress rule it was 90 :10.The prime minister in his speech, has skipped this discrimination and gave false propaganda to the people of the state in his speech, alleged congress leader Kanungo.

Kanungo further said why eight out of 33 schemes started for the state earlier has been discontinued. Two out of these schemes were meant for Annadata,he said.”Question arises when during Modi rule the state re-organization took place but why Sadheikala and Kharsuan have not been merged with the state of Odisha”,he stated.

During BJP government in Chhatisgarh, Mahanadi water stopped to Odisha. Modi has no answer about this matter. It is ridiculous for Modi to speak of double engine government when BJP BJD were alliance partners for 9 years and the undeclared alliance for last 15 years.

He said  BJD has given the unsolicited support to BJP in all the matters during last ten years in and outside  Parliament. Even,Aswini Baishnab has been sent to Rajya Sabha twice with the support of BJD.Even ,the prime minister during his trip to Odisha recently had described Naveen Patnaik as popular and his friend.

Stating that Amit Shah had promised before 2014 the centre will send  those mines mafias and others to jail, Kanungo asked PM Modi how many mafias in the meantime have been sent to jail by Amit Shah.

He questioned why central investigative agencies are silent to take on corrupt elements in the state government in last 10 years. “Now the prime minister has declared the expiry date of BJD government. Which doctor has described such expiry date”,he enquired.

He blamed the centre and the state government for covishield injection which have affected many people in the country. The evil intention of both the governments are on the natural resources of Odisha,he alleged ,adding there is an instance of both indulged in looting the resources. In last 10 years the iron extraction has increased 12 times than what has been extracted during 1950 t0 2000,he said.

While the central government didn’t hike royalty on coal, it has earned 13 lakh crore from coal cess which was collected 400 rupees for tone. On the other hand, they have not done any good work for the state of Odisha.Kanungo also said that during this government the money meant for adivasi development has been squeezed.

Now the BJD leaders are cautiously giving statement. They are totally silent on central neglect and expect exploitation. This friendly relation between the two is dangerous for the development, progress and Ashmita of Odisha,he said.

Among others PCC Spokesperson Prashant Satpathy and Nalinikanta Nayak were present in this press conference today.
