PM Modi gives election speech, repetitive in Lok Sabha : Opposition
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said in the Parliament premises that it seems that he is disconnected from the people and their needs. This is what was felt from his speech, she said.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, "I was surprised by the Prime Minister's speech because it was an election speech. There is an election in Delhi tomorrow. He has given a list of the government's works. We all know that the opposition had made many criticisms, but the Prime Minister did not answer them."
He said that the Prime Minister should have avoided political comments as it was a discussion on the President's address.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said that the Prime Minister did not express grief over the death of people in the stampede of Maha Kumbh in his speech, which is a matter of regret.
He said, "It is very unfortunate that such a big incident happened in Kumbh. The government was earlier hiding the death toll. Today, no condolences were expressed ".
Roy said, "I am very unhappy with the prime minister's speech today. He gave a speech which is a repetition of the president's speech, but he did not answer the questions raised about the number of deaths in Kumbh and the situation in Bangladesh."
On Prime Minister Modi's address in Lok Sabha, Congress Whip Manikam Tagore said, "We thought that after the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's visionary statement about India's future development and making India a production hub, the PM would say something good. But he was talking about the past...his problem is that he lives in the past and does not talk about the future. The opposition leader talked about the future and the PM talked about the past."
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said, "He did not talk about a single question raised by Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, Akhilesh Yadav also spoke very well, he did not answer anything on that. This is the same repetition of the PM's speech which we have been hearing for so many years...there is nothing new."
