Gonda BLO commits suicide after officers pressurised BLO to delete names of OBC voters

  •  Gyanesh Kumar and Narendra Modi are hell-bent on finishing democracy

(Fast Mail):--After Bihar, the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 12 states across the country continues to be mired in controversy.

From West Bengal to Uttar Pradesh, reports of  Booth Level Officers(BLOs) dying by suicide or passing away under mysterious circumstances due to SIR-related pressure keep emerging.

A similar heart-wrenching case has now surfaced from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh. BLO Vipin Yadav, who was posted on SIR duty, died by suicide.

His family has alleged that the SDM and the Lekhpal were continuously pressuring him to delete the names of OBC voters from the voter list during the SIR process. When Vipin Yadav refused to do so, he was threatened with termination from his job and being picked up by the police.

The family claims Vipin Yadav  was explicitly told: “Delete the names of OBC voters or your job is over.”

Unable to bear the pressure, Vipin Yadav took his own life,it is alleged.

Vipin Yadav’s father, Suresh Yadav, broke down while speaking to the media and said that just before his death, his son had called him and revealed that officers were forcing him to remove voters from backward classes.

The grieving father, himself a teacher, said his son told him that the SDM used to threaten him: “Remove the OBC voters’ names.”

The Congress party shared a video of Vipin Yadav’s sobbing family members and wrote:“This is the real face of SIR because of which BLOs are being driven to suicide. The hidden order is to delete the names of backward classes, Dalits, deprived sections and voters perceived to be supporting the opposition, and to prepare a voter list that suits the BJP.

Gyanesh Kumar and Narendra Modi are hell-bent on finishing democracy, and SIR is the tool for it.

BJP government, answer this: Has your greed for power killed an honest teacher? Will the Election Commission now remains silent on the murder of OBC voting rights as well?”
