87 per cent polling recorded in Hindol NAC poll

Hindol Sub collector Sivananda Swain,said,” 87 per cent voters  cast their votes for the chair person and councillors in 16 members council of the NAC. Out of 9863 voters in the NAC 8591 voters exercised their franchise. The voting took place in a peaceful manner without any untoward incident”.

Elections took place  for NAC chair person and 16 ward councillors for the NAC today.There are three contestants for chairman post while Keshab Chandra Pradhan stood from BJD, Sobhagini Pradhan is the BJP candidate while congress put up Rita Palei as its candidatep for chair person.

SP Gyana Ranajn Mohapatra said heavy police arrangements were made to ensure smooth and fair poll .He said there were some preventive measures taken by police to ensure the fair poll. About three platoon of armed police are being deployed in the election.

Reports said, besides SP two additional SPs, 6 DSPs and 5 inspectors besides other junior officials have been deployed for the election duty to ensure peaceful poll.

Hindol Notified Area Council was formed in 2013 and the election was held in that year.In that election congress nominee  got elected  as chair person having the majority in the council.But,in the next election 2018 BJD candidate Rina Pradhan become the chair person and the party got majority in the council.
