9 killed as massive fire breaks out in warehouse in Hyderabad

 NEW DELHI: At least  9 people have been reportedly killed and several others injured in a massive fire that broke out in a chemical warehouse in Hyderabad. The incident took place in Nampally, Hyderabad.

The fire broke out on the first floor of a four-storey building here. According to Venkateswara Rao, DCP, Central Zone, Hyderabad, repair work of a car was going on in the warehouse on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the spark reached the chemical barrel kept in the warehouse and caught fire. Within no time the fire engulfed other floors of the building and 9 people died.

 

 “During the investigation it has also come to light that many barrels of oil were kept in the warehouse built in this building. Because of this also the fire took a terrible form,”he said.

Getting information,the fire brigade team reached the spo and tried to  extinguish the fire. The fire brigade team is also busy in evacuating the people trapped at the spot.

According to the fire brigade, 20 people have been evacuated safely. A small child is also included among those who have been evacuated safely from this multi-storey building. A video is going viral on social media in which fire brigade personnel are seen taking the child out of the window.
