Self-Proclaimed supreme leader and master distorter Distorting Facts Engaged in Anti-Nehru Campaign

NEW DELHI: Targeting the  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the congress party has alleged that the "self-proclaimed supreme leader" and "master distorter" of history is actively engaged in an anti-Nehru campaign to divert attention from serious questions.

Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also questioned why the Prime Minister has remained silent on the statements made by US President Donald Trump on India-Pakistan "ceasefire" eight times in past 11 days.

In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh wrote, "Today is Pandit Nehru's death anniversary, and even on this day, the country's self-proclaimed supreme leader and 'master distorter' of history is busy with anti-Nehru rhetoric. This is a deeply unfortunate and condemnable attempt to divert attention from the serious questions he must answer."

He further asked why the terrorists responsible for the brutal attack in Pahalgam are still roaming freely, despite reports suggesting their involvement in attacks in Poonch (December 2023), Ganggir (October 2024), and Gulmarg (October 2024).

Ramesh questioned, "Why is our Prime Minister silent on the statements made by the US President about an India-Pakistan ceasefire, repeated eight times in the last 11 days, especially when those statements led to the halting of 'Operation Sindoor'?"

He claimed that the deepening military alliance between China and Pakistan is now more evident than ever, yet the Prime Minister remains silent. He noted that on June 19, 2020, the Prime Minister publicly gave China a clean chit, and India's trade deficit with China continues to grow.

The Congress leader also asked, "Why is the Prime Minister silent when India is repeatedly equated with Pakistan on the global stage, and why has our diplomacy and global narrative to isolate Pakistan failed?"

Earlier, in another post, Ramesh claimed that Nehru, despite being empowered, never became authoritarian and did not need hollow claims or promises to prove himself, while "the country has been witnessing" such behavior "since May 26, 2014."
