As Congress govt waives off farmers' loans in Telangana, Rahul says - 'what they say, did it'

New Delhi:The Congress government of Telangana has announced to waive off all loans of farmers up to Rs 2 lakh.

Congress said that this step has been taken in the direction of fulfilling the pledge of Kisan Nyay. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that what they said, they did it, this is their intention and habit too.

Rahul Gandhi  congratulates to the  families of Telangana farmers saying that the Congress government has taken a historic step towards fulfilling the pledge of 'Kisan Nyay' by waiving off all your loans up to Rs 2 lakh which will make more than 40 lakh farmer families debt free.

“What we said, we did it - this is our  intention and habit too. Congress government means - guarantee of spending the state treasury in strengthening the deprived society including farmers and laborers, an example of which is this decision of the Telangana government. Our promise is - wherever Congress will be in power, it will spend India's wealth on 'Indians', not on 'capitalists'”,Rahul Gandhi said.

Congress President Kharge said that the Congress  government has taken a historic decision to make more than 40 lakh farmer families of Telangana debt free.

He said that 16 years ago, the Congress-UPA government waived off ?72,000 crore agricultural loan and interest of 3.73 crore farmers. After that we waived off the loans of farmers in many Congress-ruled states. On one hand, the Modi government imposed three black laws on the farmers of the country, harassed them for months by using barbed wires, tear gas from drones, rubber bullets and lathi-bullets…

On the other hand, he said the Congress Party guaranteed fair prices, debt waiver commission, direct transfer of insurance payments and correct agricultural import-export policy under “Kisan Nyay”. This agenda of ours will remain intact. Jai Kisan, Jai Hindustana
