PCC chief calls for protection to Indian constitution

ANGUL: The PCC President Bhakta Charan Das called upon every Indian to save the constitution which is in danger.

Das was here in Angul today and was addressing Samvidhan Banchao Samabesh organized by district congress committee. He said the Indian constitution is undergoing a very bad time and needs protection. So every Indian should come forward to protect it.India has got freedom after immense struggle and Dr. Ambedkar framed the constitution.

Referring to the current situation in the country, Das said the country is facing a war due to failure of the central government. No one in the country is safe. He said people are being exploited due to price rise and various failures of the government.

Coming down heavily on state government he said the law and order situation in the state is deplorable while the women are unsafe. He described the 10-month BJP rule in the state was a failure and a cheat.

Regarding congress in the state he said congress party is united and is working in a unified spirit. The people of the state have realized double engine government and will reply befittingly in future.

Mentioning various failures of the Mohan government, he charged the government is bent on propaganda. The Centre of late has accepted the caste census, the brain-child of Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, the Indian government was rejecting the demand to conduct a caste census.

Among others, Former union minister Srikant Jena said the central negligence and state failure to provide justice to the displaced people and in coal royalty. Angul which was considered to be the capital is lagging behind development.

Speaking on the occasion, former MP Nagendra Pradhan presented a picture of women atrocities in the state when the state government is unable to protect them. Besides Srikant Jena, MP Amar Pradhan,Sashmita Behera  among others spoke on the occasion. The occasion was presided over by PCC President Ambika Bhatt.

The PCC President Bhakta Charan Das accompanied by Srikant Jena met Angul SP Rahul Jain and demanded strong action on the rape and murder case occurred under Banarpal police station, A 25-year woman from Kaniha area was missing on April 26 was raped and murdered by miscreants. No one so far has been arrested in this connection.

PCCc president also went to Hingula mandira Talcher and offered puja. He also addressed in another Samvidhan Banchao rally in Dhenkanal this evening.
