Pakistan's Lahore rocked by serial blasts, eyewitnesses claim missile attack, airport shut down

Reports of blasts have emerged from Lahore with multiple explosions were heard one after another in Lahore. According to Lahore Police, a massive blast occurred on Walton Road in Lahore, with around 2 to 3 explosions reported. The sound of these blasts was so loud that people rushed out of their homes.

These explosions took place near Lahore's old airport, after which the airport was shut down. An eyewitness to the blasts claimed that the attack was carried out using missiles. This is considered the second largest attack after 'Operation Sindoor.' No information on casualties has been reported yet, but images suggest significant damage to buildings.

On the night of May 6-7, the Indian Army conducted 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the Pahalgam attack. The Indian Army destroyed nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief, General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, stated that at least 26 people were killed and 46 injured in these airstrikes. The strikes targeted areas in PoK and Punjab province, where, according to India, terrorist bases were located.

In view of this situation, a red alert has been issued in Pakistan. All government hospitals have been instructed to remain on standby, the country's airspace has been closed for 24 to 36 hours, all schools and colleges in Islamabad and Punjab have been shut down, and security forces have been put on high alert.
