Das kick- starts campaign in Athamallik and Chhendipada today

Arriving Athamallik at about noon today, Das offered prayer at hanuman mandir located at bus stand. He proceeded then in a huge procession to Gandhi park where he offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.Then he garlanded Biju Patnaik statue in the town. Das then proceeded to Maheswari temple and sought her blessings .Then after Das went to Binikei pitha where he met BJD workers. The Athamallik assembly candidate Nalinikanta Pradhan and other local BJD leaders accompanied him.He however, didn’t address any public meeting and spoke to media.Hundreds of party workers participated in the procession of Pranab Kumar Das in Athamallik.

Later,Das proceeded to adjacent Chhendipada assembly constituency where he offered prayer at Jarapada Siva temple.Then he went Patrapada  where the annual function of goddess Batabhuin was in progress. Then after he rushed back to Bhubaneswar, according to sources.

A royal fight is expected between the two stalwarts in the current election.Earlier,Dharmendra Pradhan had visited both Chhendipada and Athamallik constituencies  and offered prayers at various temples.he also interacted with party workers and local people and urged them to vote for BJP in ensuing elections.

These two assembly segments constitute the parts of Sambalpur LS seat
