West Bengal government releases DR arrear to state government pensioners; families also eligible
KOLKATA: The State Government has now commenced the disbursement of arrear Dearness Relief (DR). Retired employees of the State Government, as well as their families, are eligible to receive this benefit.
Through an official notification, Nabanna (the State Secretariat) has announced that the distribution of DR arrears—accrued between the years 2008 and 2015—has officially begun.
Nabanna's notification regarding the DR disbursement was issued on May 29. The notification stipulates that in the event of the demise of an employee or pensioner, the accrued DR arrears will be paid to their designated nominee or legal heir.
Official observations had revealed that, in numerous instances, the concerned employee or pensioner had already passed away by the time the distribution of arrear funds was initiated. Consequently, complications were arising regarding the disbursement of payments in such cases. To resolve this issue, a new set of guidelines had been introduced earlier.
