Assembly Elections : 91.46% Voting in West Bengal, 84.41% in Tamil Nadu

 Voters showed tremendous enthusiasm during the first phase of polling in West Bengal and in Tamil Nadu.

The Election Commission released the estimated voting trends till 5 PM.

According to the figures, Tamil Nadu recorded approximately 84.41% polling, while the first phase in West Bengal saw around 91.46% turnout.

The Election Commission stated that till 5 PM, overall polling in West Bengal stood at approximately 89.93%. District-wise breakup is as follows:Alipurduar: 88.74% 

Bankura: 89.91% 

Birbhum: 91.55% 

Cooch Behar: 92.07% 

Dakshin Dinajpur: 93.12% 

Darjeeling: 86.49% 

Jalpaiguri: 91.20% 

Jhargram: 90.53% 

Kalimpong: 81.98% 

Malda: 89.56% 

Murshidabad: 91.36% 

Paschim Bardhaman: 86.89% 

Paschim Medinipur: 90.70% 

Purba Medinipur: 88.55% 

Purulia: 87.35% 

Uttar Dinajpur: 89.74%

The second phase of polling in West Bengal is scheduled for 29 April. Results for all phases will be declared on 4 May. High voter turnout in both states reflects strong enthusiasm and faith in the democratic process despite the intense summer heat.
