Famous Ganesh Puja Celebration Grips Talcher Coal City
The glittering decoration at Ganesh bazar,bypass,Handhidhuan,Hatatota,Tamrit colony are attracting people mostly. Right from 5pm in the evening people from Angul,Parjang,Pallahara,Nalco and from Talcher villages are coming to Talcher coal city to witness the puja.All along the route shop keepers from even outside states have opened their shops and doing a brisk business .
“This year due to favourable weather I brought my family with me to witness famous gnash puja in Talcher Coal city. We have visited a number of pandals where high class decorations have been made .We enjoyed at the make shift fooding centres along with famiies.This year our visit to Talcher Ganesh puja is remarkable and enjoyable”,said a resident of Parjang area.
Sabita Behera,another resident from Bhairabi Sahi said,"All members wear new dresses,guests arrive to our homes and we enjoy lot during the festival.
In order to observe the festival in a smooth and orderly manner the local administration and police have held a series of meetings with various puja committees. Several decisions have been made with a consensus to ensure smooth passing of the event.The immersion will take place on September 18 when all the idols will be assembled at the Badadanda Sahi and the idols will be taken in procession for immersion.Before the immersion takes place auction of Ganesha laddu” will be held on same day".
The entire area has been divided into four sectors which are in charge of one deputy superintendent of police.Eight platoons of police force have been deployed to ensure law and order.
