Ibrahim Zadran dedicates POTM award to Afghan refugees who were sent back by Pakistan forcibly

CHENNAI:After a stunning win against Pakistan in the 22nd match of the ODI World Cup, Ibrahim Zadran in a big statement dedicated his Player of the Match award to the Afghan refugees who are forcibly being sent back home by Pakistan.

After the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, many people living there left Afghanistan and took refuge in the western part of Pakistan, while many people were living there for a long time, but after Pakistan's relations with the Taliban government deteriorated ,they expelled those refugees from Pakistan. Afghanistan has been living under the shadow of terror for the last two years.

Afghanistan, which played its first ODI World Cup in 2015, first defeated world champion England and now Pakistan. Ibrahim Zadran, the hero of Afghanistan's victory over Pakistan, played an innings of 87 runs in this match. He was also chosen Player of the Match for his excellent batting. After winning the title of Player of the Match, this Afghanistan player taunts  Pakistan on the international stage.

Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran said, "I wanted to go there with a positive mind and positive intentions and that's what I did." Gurbaz and I have played a lot of cricket with each other, we have very good coordination while running between the wickets because we have been playing together since Under-16 days. The way Gurbaz supported helped me and we shifted the momentum in our favour. I am feeling very good for myself and my country. Zadran then said that he wanted to dedicate this Player of the Match title to those who were sent back to Afghanistan from Pakistan.

Talking about the match played between Pakistan and Afghanistan, in this match Pakistan captain Babar Azam had decided to bat after winning the toss. Batting first, Pakistan scored 282 runs losing 7 wickets in 50 overs. In response to which Afghanistan scored 286 runs losing 2 wickets in 49 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Their top order played a vital role in Afghanistan's victory. The first three batsmen scored half-centuries in this match.
